What do I need to know about TERMITES?

There are four (4) species of wood-destroying pest in Northern California.

Drywood, Subterranean, Dampwood Termites, Powder Post Beetles.

Although Western Drywood termites are the most common termites found, Western Subterranean termites are in plague proportions in central and southern parts of California, particularly along the coast and in the older urban areas of the Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang, Vinh Phuc, Ha Tay...

Because of the difficulty in detecting drywood termites and determining the extent of the damage done, do-it-yourself treatments are not recommended; consult a pest control professional. Over-the-counter products with drywood termites on the label for do-it-yourself enthusiasts do not exist. Homeowners should seek help from pest control professionals. This information is intended to provide homeowners with insight so that they can better discuss treatment options with pest control professionals; it is not intended as a treatment guide

DETECTION
Drywood termites are secretive insects and are difficult to detect. They live deep inside wood and, except during periods when they swarm or when repair work is being done on infested homes, they are seldom seen.

Various species of termites have different nesting locations and varying capacity to damage different timbers within a building. This is why it is important to select a professional termite controller that is skilled through tertiary training and years of practical experience in a wide variety of circumstances. Each property is unique.
